David, what is your method of payment?
If I know in advance, I can take my credit card reader to take credit cards. I take checks, cash, PayPal payments and credit cards over the phone.
David, do you have insurance?
Yes, I am insured. It is important for me to be insured because if I get injured on the job your homeowners insurance will not be responsible.
Do you work weekends?
Sometimes, but I'd rather not.
Do you buy the parts or do we?
I can do the work either way, I usually make that deal when doing the estimate or over the phone first.
Do you do free estimates?
Yes
How do you charge?
Each
job is unique so it depends on the situation. For example,
if I am just repairing a toilet valve I usually
charge $45 for a
service call fee plus the part cost. If I am
painting a single room and fixing a couple of
other things I charge a daily rate of $225, plus
parts. If I have to do something like paint a
whole house, I charge by the square foot, plus
parts. Each situation is
different. Depending on the distance or number
of trips, I may charge mileage.
